CLINICAL DETAILS

 

A 47 year old male patient presented with a swelling in the upper right gingivae. This mass had been present for six years following extraction of the upper right second premolar tooth. A radiolucency had also been present in the maxilla since this extraction. This patient is fit and well and does not smoke.

CLINICAL DETAILS

 

A female patient presented with multiple episodes of mucosal lesions. On examination there were widespread oral ulcers, mucosal fragility and lip crusting. The patient also had a recent history of skin lesions with blisters involving the legs, back and neck. Some of these lesions had a targetoid appearance. There was also a previous history suggestive of Stephen Johnson Syndrome.

Biopsies were done (including a fresh sample) and sent for histopathological examination.

CLINICAL DETAILS

 

A male patient in his 60s presented a large ulcerated mass extending from the right buccal mucosa to the midline of the hard and soft palate. The clinical impression was that of a squamous cell carcinoma. CT and MRI imaging shows a large lobulated mass involving the right maxillary antrum, nose, ethmoid sinuses, infratemporal fossa, pterygoid and masseter muscles and the right orbit. No intracranial extension was seen.

The lesion was biopsied and sent for histopathological examination.

CLINICAL DETAILS

 

A 12 year old male presented with an unerupted lower left canine. A cone beat CT showed an unerupted canine with a large cystic space surrounding the crown of the unerupted canine. The cystic space was largely radiolucent but contained soem well-formed tooth like radi-opaque structures.

CLINICAL DETAILS

 

A 75 year old female patient presented with an asymptomatic neck lump involving the left level of the neck. Clinical examination, CT and PE imaging showed a well defined 4 cm cystic lesion in the left level II with no evidence of activity on PET imaging. The differential diagnosis included a branchial cleft cyst or a cystic lymph node.
